Windows & Active Directory Engineer


The Senior Windows & Active Directory Engineer leads enterprise‑scale directory services and Windows Server infrastructure with a focus on standardization, security, modernization, and operational resilience. This role is central to mergers, acquisitions, and consolidation initiatives, ensuring seamless integration of acquired environments and driving a unified, scalable identity and infrastructure strategy across the organization.


Key Responsibilities


  • Lead engineering, architecture, and operational oversight of enterprise Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory services.
  • Drive domain, forest, and Group Policy standardization to strengthen security, scalability, and administrative efficiency.
  • Maintain and enhance the security posture of Windows and AD environments through configuration hardening, patching, access control improvements, and vulnerability remediation using tools such as CrowdStrike, Qualys, and Microsoft Defender.
  • Support M&A, divestiture, and consolidation efforts, including assessment, migration planning, and integration of acquired environments.
  • Apply AI, automation, and PowerShell to improve operational efficiency, accelerate troubleshooting, and enhance reporting and decision‑making.
  • Define, track, and report KPI metrics related to service health, performance, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate across infrastructure, networking, security, and application teams to deliver stable, compliant, business‑aligned solutions.
  • Develop and maintain standards, automation, documentation, and operational processes that reduce risk and improve reliability.

Required Qualifications


  • 10+ years of enterprise experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory engineering and administration.
  • Deep expertise in domains, forests, trusts, DNS, Group Policy, replication, and directory security.
  • Proven experience supporting M&A integration, domain/forest consolidation, and legacy environment rationalization.
  • Strong proficiency in PowerShell automation and modern hybrid identity technologies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration skills in complex enterprise environments.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with Azure AD / Entra ID, identity governance, and conditional access.
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust principles and enterprise security frameworks.
  • Background in infrastructure modernization, cloud migration, or automation at scale.
