WE ARE HIRING FOR A L2/L3 SENIOR NETWORK ENGINEER IN ROME, ITALY.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Services Engineer to manage and support enterprise customer network environments across Italy. In this role, you will be responsible for day-to-day network operations, incident management, customer technical support, circuit lifecycle management, vendor coordination, proactive monitoring, and the delivery of high-quality managed network services.

This position is ideal for a hands-on network professional with strong expertise in MPLS, WAN technologies, Cisco networking, secure internet services, telecom provider coordination, and advanced network troubleshooting. You will play a key role in maintaining business-critical network infrastructure while working closely with customers, internal teams, and service providers.


Fluency in Italian is mandatory, as customer communication and coordination with local telecom providers will be conducted in Italian.


Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and support enterprise customer network services across Italy, including MPLS and Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) circuits.
  • Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support for network incidents, outages, and service requests.
  • Troubleshoot routing, connectivity, latency, packet loss, configuration, and network performance issues.
  • Monitor network health using monitoring tools and proactively identify and resolve potential issues.
  • Perform bandwidth utilization, traffic analysis, and circuit health assessments.
  • Coordinate circuit installations, upgrades, relocations, terminations, and site migrations.
  • Support customer router deployments, refreshes, and replacement activities.
  • Liaise with telecom providers and vendors to ensure timely incident resolution and service delivery.
  • Provide technical support and regular updates to customers regarding incidents and service requests.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Service Delivery, Operations, Sales, and Finance.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, circuits, routing, and service records.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call support rotation.

RequirementsRequired Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of MPLS, DIA, WAN, LAN, TCP/IP, VLANs, IP Subnetting, QoS, High Availability, Redundancy, and Failover.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco routers, Cisco IOS, BGP, OSPF, Static Routing, VRFs, and routing troubleshooting.
  • Experience configuring and supporting customer premises equipment (CPE), primarily Cisco routers. Exposure to Linux-based routers is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of secure internet services, firewall technologies, VPN concepts, and network security best practices.
  • Experience with network monitoring and performance analysis tools, SNMP monitoring, traffic analysis, and bandwidth monitoring.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across routing, connectivity, latency, packet loss, circuit outages, and overall network performance.
  • Understanding of incident, change, problem, and vendor management processes.
Required Experience
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in enterprise networking, telecom support, or managed network services.
  • Proven experience supporting MPLS, WAN, LAN, routing, and enterprise connectivity services.
  • Strong expertise in Cisco routing and switching technologies.
  • Experience managing customer network devices and CPE routers.
  • Experience supporting secure internet connectivity and firewall environments.
  • Hands-on experience with network monitoring, traffic analysis, and performance optimization.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex network issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Experience managing telecom circuit lifecycle activities, including installations, upgrades, relocations, and decommissioning.
  • Experience working with telecom providers, managed service providers, and enterprise customers.
  • Familiarity with high-availability, business-critical network environments.
  • Willingness to participate in a 24/7 on-call support rotation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting large-scale MPLS environments.
  • Experience with router refresh, migration, or infrastructure upgrade projects.
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes and service management best practices.
  • Experience within the travel, aviation, or transportation industry is an advantage.
  • Basic understanding of telecom vendor and contract management.
