Prepare, update, and improve practical resources (worksheets, instructions, safety guidelines).
Demonstrate laboratory techniques and provide guidance on safe use of chemicals and equipment.
Support students during experiments and projects, ensuring adherence to safety procedures.
Prepare materials, set up and test experiments in advance, and assist during lessons.
Maintain accurate documentation and assist with the organization and assessment of practical work.
Prepare reagents, materials, and equipment in a timely manner to ensure smooth delivery of practical lessons.
Conduct trial runs of new experiments to ensure reliability and effectiveness.
Maintain laboratories and preparation rooms in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
Ensure proper storage, labeling, and disposal of chemicals and biological waste in line with regulations.
Clean, maintain, and check equipment regularly; arrange repairs when needed.
Keep an up-to-date inventory of equipment, materials, and safety data (MSDS).
Monitor and maintain stock levels, placing orders as required.
Ensure all safety equipment is regularly inspected and functioning correctly.
Report hazards or safety concerns promptly to the Head of Science.
Support care and maintenance of any laboratory plants or animals, where applicable.
Contribute to the preparation and monitoring of the science department budget.
Contribute to the wider life of the school (events, meetings, open days, trips).
Support extracurricular activities and school initiatives.
Participate in professional development opportunities.
Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and monitor departmental expenditure.
Carry out additional duties as required by the Head of Science or Faculty Leader.
Salary range: €21.000 - €23.000 gross per year
