The Accounting & Reporting Analyst is responsible for executing the month-end and year-end closing processes for entities of low and medium complexity, ensuring strict financial compliance and data integrity. This role focuses heavily on preparing and approving complex intracompany reconciliations, analyzing data across global subsidiaries, and managing the end-to-end VAT process for Mexico. The successful candidate must possess a sharp analytical mindset to look beyond standard numbers, cross-reference databases to support strategic decision-making, and collaborate closely with local finance teams to drive continuous improvement.
Month-End & Year-End Closing: Lead the closing cycle for assigned low and medium complexity entities, preparing financial statements, cash flow networks (CFN), and annual statutory reports.
Intracompany Reconciliations: Perform, review, and approve detailed balance sheet and transactional reconciliations between Colgate-Palmolive Mexico and global subsidiaries, ensuring timely discrepancy resolution.
Ad-Hoc Financial Analysis: Conduct specialized analytical reviews to support accounting closures, focusing on areas such as Other Expenses & Income, currency revaluation, and Non-Volume Orders (NVOs).
Tax Compliance (VAT): Manage and oversee the end-to-end Value Added Tax (VAT) accounting and reporting process, ensuring strict compliance with Mexican fiscal regulations.
Data-Driven Decision Support: Analyze and extract insights from core financial databases to provide local financial partners with actionable data that supports business strategy and bottom-line results.
Continuous Process Improvement: Partner with cross-functional teams to identify operational bottlenecks, driving automation and optimization initiatives within the accounting and reporting workflows.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related financial discipline.
Experience: 2+ years of solid experience in corporate accounting, financial reporting, or audit environments.
Systems & Tools: Practical proficiency in SAP and advanced mastery of Excel / Google Sheets.
Languages: Intermediate English proficiency.
Professional Curiosity: A proactive, inquisitive attitude with a natural drive to dig deeper into financial data and understand its broader business impact.
Tax Expertise: Deepened understanding of Mexican corporate tax structures and electronic accounting rules.
Continuous Improvement Mindset: Familiarity with Agile or Lean tools applied to the digitalization of financial processes.
