Grade: L1 Location: Islamabad Apply by: 15th July, 2026 Role: Design, implement, and maintain our virtualization infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in VMware vSphere, ESXi, and related technologies, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of our virtualized environments.
This role involves working closely with the infrastructure, networking, and security teams to support business-critical applications and drive infrastructure modernization initiatives.
Responsibilities: • Design, deploy, configure, and maintain VMware vSphere, ESXi hosts, and vCenter environments.
• Manage and optimize virtual machines, resource pools, clusters, and datastores for performance and capacity.
• Implement and maintain high availability (HA), Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS), and vMotion configurations.
• Administer VMware NSX (networking/virtualization) and vSAN (software-defined storage), where applicable.
• Plan and execute VMware upgrades, patches, and firmware updates with minimal downtime.
• Monitor infrastructure health using tools such as vRealize Operations (Aria Operations), and proactively resolve issues.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity plans using Site Recovery Manager (SRM) or equivalent.
• Collaborate with server, storage, network, and security teams to ensure seamless integration of virtual infrastructure.
• Automate routine tasks using PowerCLI, PowerShell, or other scripting/automation tools.
• Maintain accurate documentation of infrastructure configurations, SOPs, and change management records.
• Ensure compliance with security policies, licensing requirements, and industry best practices.
• Provide Tier 2/3 support and troubleshoot complex virtualization-related incidents.
• Participate in on-call rotation for critical infrastructure support, as needed.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of hands-on experience administering VMware vSphere/ESXi environments in a production setting.
• Strong knowledge of VMware vCenter, vMotion, DRS, HA, and vSAN.
• Experience with storage technologies (SAN/NAS) and their integration with VMware environments.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts (VLANs, TCP/IP, routing, firewalls) as they relate to virtualization.
• Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.
g., Veeam, SRM).
• Familiarity with scripting/automation tools such as PowerCLI, PowerShell, or Ansible.
• Working knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux administration.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Preferred Qualifications • VMware Certified Professional (VCP-DCV) certification or higher (VCAP/VCIX).
• Experience with VMware NSX-T/NSX-V and software-defined networking.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid cloud/VMware Cloud solutions.
• Experience with containerization/orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, Tanzu, Docker).
• ITIL Foundation certification or experience working within an ITIL framework.
