Position Title : Electrical Engineer – Oil & Gas EPC


Location : Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore

About the Role


We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to support EPC projects for global clients in the Oil & Gas sector. The role involves engineering design, technical coordination, vendor management, and execution support for brownfield and greenfield projects delivered for major EPC organizations such as KBR and Worley.


The candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver safe, compliant, and high-quality electrical engineering solutions throughout FEED, Detailed Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning phases.


Key Responsibilities


  • Perform electrical engineering design activities for Oil & Gas EPC projects.
  • Prepare and review:
    • Single Line Diagrams (SLD)
    • Load Lists and Load Flow Studies
    • Cable Sizing Calculations
    • Earthing & Lightning Protection Design
    • Lighting Layouts and Power Distribution Systems
    • Hazardous Area Classification compliance
  • Develop electrical specifications, datasheets, MR/TBE documents, and requisitions for electrical equipment.
  • Coordinate with vendors for technical bid evaluations, document reviews, and inspection support.
  • Support procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up activities.
  • Ensure compliance with international codes and standards such as IEC, IEEE, NEC, API, and client specifications.
  • Interface with multidisciplinary teams including Process, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Civil, and Piping disciplines.
  • Participate in design reviews, HAZOP, model reviews, and client meetings.
  • Support brownfield modifications, site surveys, and field engineering activities.
  • Maintain engineering quality, schedule adherence, and project deliverables as per EPC standards.

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5–15 years of experience in Oil & Gas / Petrochemical / Refinery EPC projects.
  • Experience supporting global EPC companies and offshore/onshore projects preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of LV/MV power systems, substations, MCCs, transformers, UPS systems, and electrical distribution.
  • Familiarity with engineering tools/software such as:
    • ETAP
    • Dialux
    • AutoCAD
    • SmartPlant Electrical / AVEVA
    • Navisworks
  • Understanding of hazardous area requirements and international engineering standards.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience


  • Experience in FEED and Detailed Engineering projects.
  • Exposure to Middle East, Australian, or North American Oil & Gas projects.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary EPC environments.
  • Knowledge of digital engineering and 3D model review processes is an advantage.
