Job description

Our Company:

At Teradata, we believe that people thrive when empowered with better information. Teradata Autonomous Knowledge Platform activates enterprise intelligence by unifying data, knowledge and business context to achieve tangible outcomes. With Teradata, organizations can provide agents with full context for impact when it matters. Our solution lets businesses connect and scale on premises, in the cloud, or through a hybrid approach. Teradata delivers real business value with AI.

Position Summary

The Senior Analyst, Competitive Pricingplays a critical role in shaping how Teradata competes in the market. This role is anchored in deep competitive pricing research that directly feeds into pricing analysis, recommendations, and approval - and extends that intelligence into field enablement that equips Sales and Deal Desk to compete and win on price.

Sitting within Teradata's  Product Marketing team, you will support the Pricing & Packaging team and will partner closely with Product Management, Competitive Intelligence, Product Marketing, Sales, and Deal Desk to build a fact-based view of competitor pricing - and translate those insights into actionable recommendations, pricing decisions, and field-ready tools.

This is a high-visibility role that directly influences pricing strategy, pricing approvals, deal execution, and competitive positioning.

What You Will Do

Competitive Pricing Research

  • Conduct structured competitive pricing analysis across cloud data platform, analytics, and AI competitors - covering list prices, discount patterns, packaging models, and consumption-based pricing structures.
  • Build and maintain a competitive pricing intelligence database that serves as the authoritative source of record for Pricing & Packaging, Product Marketing, and Competitive Intelligence teams - including list prices, discount patterns, packaging models, and TCO benchmarks.
  • Develop TCO and priceperformance models comparing Teradata to key competitors across regions, workloads, and deployment models.
  • Analyze win/loss pricing patterns to identify risks and opportunities, and translate findings into concrete inputs for pricing recommendations and approval decisions.
  • Monitor AI pricing and cloud monetization trends - token-based, consumption-based, and outcome-based models - and surface implications for Teradata's pricing strategy and competitive positioning.
  • Partner with Product Management and Product Marketing to ensure pricing strategy reflects current competitive realities and that research findings are integrated into packaging decisions and pricing recommendations.

Competitive Pricing Enablement

  • Develop field-ready competitive pricing content - pricing briefs, battle cards, objection-handling guides, and deal-specific competitive summaries - grounded in research and immediately usable by Sales and Deal Desk.
  • Build and maintain competitive pricing tools - including TCO calculators, price-performance comparison frameworks, and consumption model explainers - that Sales and Deal Desk can use in active opportunities.
  • Translate win/loss pricing patterns into actionable field guidance - not just analysis, but competitive positioning and response playbooks that Sales can use in the next conversation.
  • Support strategic and competitive deals with rapid-response competitive pricing analysis, negotiation framing, and custom TCO modeling tailored to specific account contexts.

What You Bring

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills; ability to turn complex data into crisp insights.
  • Excellent communication skills; able to write clear, concise competitive briefs.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fastmoving environment.
  • Passion for the cloud, data, and AI ecosystem.
  • Ability to build and leverage AI tools to automate repetitive analysis, improve accuracy, and increase the velocity of competitive insights.

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Math, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software, cloud, or data platforms, with demonstrated fluency in cloud and AI software pricing models (consumption-based, token-based, capacity-based, or SaaS subscription).
  • Experience producing competitive analysis or pricing content that has been used directly by Sales, Deal Desk, or GTM Enablement teams.
  • Ability to collaborate across Product, Sales, Marketing, and Finance.

Preferred

  • MBA or advanced degree.
  • Direct experience with cloud hyperscaler pricing (AWS, Azure, GCP) and/or AI/ML platform pricing from vendors such as Snowflake, Databricks, Google, or Microsoft.
  • Familiarity with Teradata's competitive landscape.
