What does a Pre-Board Screening Officer do?


  • Screen the travelling public and their belongings 
  • Ensure non-permitted items do not enter the secure area 
  • Control access to restricted areas   
  • Respond to alarms and report any events, illegal acts or violations   
  • Participate in emergency operations within the airport 

Qualifications to become a Pre-Board Screening Officer? 


  • Must be a Canadian Citizen or a permanent resident 
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)  
  • Have a clean criminal record & eligible to obtain a RAIC (security clearance)  
  • 18 years of age or older 
  • Must be located near Goose Bay or willing to relocate before starting.

This Canadian airport is designated bilingual as noted from the passengers who frequent it. This designation mandates that services must be available in both English and French, which is ensured through the provision of bilingual staff. GardaWorld must ensure that an adequate number of screening personnel working at this airport during each shift, are bilingual. We are currently recruiting bilingual personnel to attain the required service levels. Current passenger demographics at this airport are approximately 5% French and 95% English.
