Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Assistant Resident Engineer to join our dynamic team in Doha, Qatar. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the successful execution of construction projects by providing on-site supervision, quality assurance, and coordination support. You will work closely with senior engineering staff and contractors to maintain project standards, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with all safety and contractual requirements. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your engineering expertise in a fast-paced, professional environment while contributing to significant infrastructure projects.


  • Supervise and monitor work quality, progress, and adherence to project schedules on site
  • Conduct regular inspections to verify that all construction works comply with approved plans, method statements, and safety protocols
  • Check and ensure site safety measures are implemented in accordance with supervision plans and regulatory requirements
  • Carry out specific inspection tasks and checklists as directed by the Resident Engineer or Senior Resident Engineer
  • Coordinate with junior technical staff to verify essential construction elements, including foundation works, structural elements, and finishing works
  • Compile and prepare detailed supervision reports, including documentation of non-conformities and corrective actions
  • Review and analyze contractor submissions, including technical documents, material certifications, and method statements
  • Monitor the work performance of contractor technical staff and provide constructive feedback
  • Attend site meetings and project coordination meetings to communicate progress and address concerns
  • Coordinate with the design office and other project stakeholders to resolve site-related issues and technical matters
  • Conduct factory inspections and material verification as required by project specifications and industry standards
  • Maintain organized records of all site activities, inspections, and communications for project documentation

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field; or a higher diploma/certificate with equivalent professional qualification
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in construction site supervision, engineering, or related field (or 5+ years with diploma-level qualification)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, and industry standards
  • Strong understanding of contractual issues and obligations in construction projects
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, plans, and specifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Fluency in Arabic (written and spoken) is essential for this Doha-based position
  • Proven ability to work independently and take initiative while remaining collaborative with team members
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities
  • Ability to adapt to dynamic site conditions and changing project requirements
  • Experience with site documentation, report writing, and record-keeping
  • Willingness to conduct factory inspections and off-site material verification as needed
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with multiple parties in a construction environment
