Position Summary
The Hotel Carpenter is responsible for constructing, installing, renovating, and repairing wooden structures, furniture, and fixtures throughout the hotel property. This role ensures that guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and structural elements are maintained to the highest standards of safety, functionality, and aesthetics, directly impacting the guest experience.


Key Responsibilities
  • Routine Maintenance & Repairs: Repair broken furniture, doors, windows, cabinetry, drywall, and wooden flooring in guest rooms and public areas.
  • Installation & Construction: Build and install new shelving, cabinets, drywall, trim, molding, and framework as required for hotel renovations or upgrades.
  • Hardware Maintenance: Repair and replace door locks, hinges, closers, handles, and automatic door mechanisms.
  • Preventative Maintenance (PM): Participate in the hotel’s PM program, systematically inspecting guest rooms and public spaces to identify and fix structural or cosmetic woodwork issues before they affect guests.
  • Event & Banquet Support: Assist the events team by building, modifying, or repairing stages, props, partitions, and specialized signage for conferences and banquets.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all work complies with local building codes, fire regulations, and occupational safety standards (OSHA). Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.
