Job description

Functional:
Job holder acts as the Expert/Highest technical authority in the area of Process Engineering including line hydraulics, surge analysis and Pump hydraulics. Handle Engineering for the Project long-term FEED, PLANNING and EPC (Detailed engineering, Procurement, Construction, Pre-Commissioning.



RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Act as the main focal point and highest technical authority on Process related activities for FEED /EPC scope development. Be a major contributor on fit-for-purpose concept process engineering definitions, to enable screening and selection.
2) Review and provide input to FEED scope of work. Review Process discipline deliverables and supervise the engineering / construction / EPC contractor’s work for all modification and engineering activities including P&ID development, PFD, Line list, Design basis, material balance, process datasheets, Instrument datasheets, Safety valves, C& E charts, control system description and calculation notes.
3) Carry out feasibility studies and prepare and review related to the project. This includes setting parameters for simulations, reviewing and approving red-lined mark-ups of PFDs, PIDs, data sheets and other relevant deliverables for all modifications from engineering / construction / EPC contractors.
4) Supervise the FEED/engineering/construction/EPC contractor(s)’ work for all related to assigned project drawings review / approval during engineering related projects, ensuring compliance with HSE&S standards and international codes/standards in alignment with company policies and strategies.
5) Interface with contractors’ engineering teams and provide technical guidance and expertise to ensure project requirements are clearly understood and met. Review and approve related technical documents.
6) Prepare and review data sheets/specifications, P&ID, study reports, vendor screening/selections, and technical bid evaluations, and approve or make recommendations to management for approval, as per the Document Distribution Matrix (DDM).
7) Review vendors/subcontractor(s) drawings, calculations, and related documentation to ensure the Process and/or valve engineering aspects meet the required specifications. Comment on and/or approve the relevant documents and follow-up with engineering contractors to ensure the comments are incorporated into the related documentations.
8) Participate in main/critical materials’ Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and provide installation and commissioning guidance as required.
9) Coordinate with company quality control, Asset Integrity, Projects and Operations teams to provide specialist engineering support in the project.
10) Participate in costing and preparation of budgets for piping and valve/engineering or related projects. Support to prepare business case studies and techno-economic justifications for high value modification projects.
11) Participate in design reviews, 3D model reviews, technical studies, PID reviews, constructability reviews and PHAs (Process hazard analysis like Hazop, What if, Hazid etc.).
12) Review technical content of Non-Conformance Requests (NCRs), warranty claims, derogation requests and concession requests received from the engineering/EPC/construction contractors and vendors, and provide recommendations for acceptance, acceptance with comments, or rejection of same for management approval.
13) Perform other similar or related duties as required or assigned by the Engineering Manager. Lead development and surveillance of contractor studies to support screening as required. Lead development and surveillance process engineering elements of FEED deliverables on selected concepts from pre-FEED through FEED approval.



QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Minimum Educational Requirements / Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering.



Minimum Experience:
15 years’ relevant experience in process engineering within the oil and gas industry or related engineering consultants/EPC contractors.



Skills and Competencies:
Bachelor’s degree (4/5yrs) in Chemical Engineering.
Additional related technical qualifications (PRO-II, PIPESIM, HTRI etc) and Certifications would be an added asset / preferable.
Minimum of 15 years’ experience in process engineering for major projects, with at least 5 years at senior level.
Minimum of 15 years’ experience in process engineering for similar oil/gas production and upstream/downstream processing facilities.
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Oil & gas industry as subject matter expert (for detailed analysis and report approvals)
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in gas processing related Projects. Skilled in computer- MS Office/MS projects & Presentation. Proficiency in International Codes like API, TEMA ASTM, NACE.
