The Role




HSBC’s Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) – International Mid-Market (IMM) team in Qatar is looking for a high-performing Relationship Director to manage and grow a portfolio of internationally minded Corporates and with revenues from $100m to over $2bn.



You’ll act as a trusted advisor to clients with cross-border ambitions, connecting them to HSBC’s international network and full suite of corporate banking solutions.




In this role you’ll be responsible for:




  • Growing and deepening client relationships
    • Expand existing IMM relationships and originate new-to-bank opportunities aligned to HSBC’s international strategy.
  • Be a strategic advisor
    • Provide consultative insights to help clients navigate complex cross-border and global market dynamics.
  • Own the client experience
    • Deliver best-in-class service and act as a senior escalation point for client needs.
  • Drive sustainable revenue growth
    • Partner with product specialists (e.g., Treasury & Cash Management, Trade, FX, Lending/Debt solutions) and colleagues across HSBC’s global network to increase HSBC’s share of the client’s global wallet.
  • Lead credit and risk discipline
    • Credit assessment, deal structuring, approvals support, and ongoing monitoring across the portfolio.
  • Manage operational, regulatory and financial crime risk
    • Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies, and external regulations.
  • Build networks and market profile
    • Strengthen internal connectivity and enhance HSBC’s presence in the local business community and with professional intermediaries.

What you’ll need (minimum requirements)




  • Bachelor’s degree is required to obtain a work permit. 
  • 10+ years’ experience in Corporate/Commercial Banking or Financial Services with relationship management accountability.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate banking products: cash management, trade, FX, lending/structured solutions.
  • Solid credit and lending experience, including complex facilities and risk assessment.
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to collaborate across product and risk teams.
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills.
  • Client-centric mindset, commercial acumen, and ability to deliver in a fast-moving environment.
