We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer - Substation Automation System (SAS) to handle engineering, configuration, testing, and commissioning activities related to MV/LV switchgear, protection relays, and control systems. The candidate will play a key role in delivering reliable and high-quality automation solutions for power substations.




Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform engineering activities related to Substation Automation Systems (SAS) for MV/LV switchgear, MCC, and HV/EHV relay & control panels.



  • Develop and prepare logic diagrams for customer review and approval.



  • Prepare signal lists, internal variable lists, and power system documentation.



  • Configure protection relays (IEDs) for protection, control, monitoring, and communication using OEM tools.



  • Generate and manage SCL files (ICD, CID, SCD) as per project requirements.



  • Interface with clients, end users, and automation vendors to finalize SAS requirements.



  • Coordinate with production, quality, and PSA vendors to resolve technical issues and improve design quality.



  • Support and ensure timely completion of Integrated Factory Acceptance Testing (iFAT).



  • Participate in FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities at site.



  • Develop HMI configurations for relays and meters.



  • Ensure compliance with international standards and project specifications.




Requirements
Technical Skills & Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of Substation Automation Systems (SAS) and power system engineering.



  • Hands-on experience with relay configuration tools from:



    • ABB



    • Siemens



    • Alstom



    • GE



    • SEL



  • Experience with industrial communication protocols (IEC 61850, Modbus, etc.).



  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and tools like Vision for architecture and logic diagrams.



  • Familiarity with ANSI / IEC / UL standards.



  • Knowledge of HMI configuration for relays and metering systems.

    • ISO 9001:2015 (QMS)



    • ISO 14001:2015 (EMS)



  • Adherence to safety procedures and engineering best practices.
