We are recruiting a Planner to join our dynamic team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. As a Planner, you will play a crucial role in developing, managing, and optimizing project schedules and programs to ensure successful delivery of our initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects while collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Develop comprehensive project schedules and detailed Gantt charts from first principles using industry-standard planning software, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and project objectives.
Identify, define, and document all project activities, tasks, milestones, and deliverables across the complete project lifecycle, from initiation through closure.
Collaborate with Project Managers, team leads, and key stakeholders to establish realistic activity durations, logical sequencing, and resource assumptions.
Develop and manage schedule logic, dependencies, leads, lags, and float calculations to accurately identify and communicate the critical path for each project.
Integrate individual project schedules into consolidated master program schedules to provide portfolio-level visibility and enable informed decision-making.
Maintain and update project schedules on regular reporting cycles, ensuring timely and accurate information for stakeholder communication and enterprise-wide reporting.
Conduct schedule risk assessments, critical path analysis, and contractor program reviews to identify potential delays and recommend mitigation strategies.
Assess project changes, variations, and scope modifications to determine impacts on schedule, budget, and overall program performance.
Support the implementation and monitoring of progress measurement methodologies, including Earned Value Management (EVM) where applicable.
Prepare and contribute to comprehensive program and project performance reports for management and senior stakeholders, presenting findings clearly and transparently.
Develop cost-loaded schedules to support cash flow forecasting, financial planning, and budget alignment.
Facilitate planning workshops and coordination meetings with design consultants, contractors, and internal teams to align methodologies, assumptions, and delivery strategies.
Interface with pre-construction, design, construction, and operations teams to support project kick-off activities, budget development, and timeline planning.
Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to assess schedule impacts arising from design changes, new materials, innovative construction techniques, or alternative methodologies.
Work closely with risk and cost management teams to enable accurate spend forecasting, risk identification, and proactive mitigation planning.
Provide timely, accurate, and clear responses to scheduling-related inquiries and requests for information, supporting informed decision-making across the organization.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the planning function, encouraging continuous improvement and best-practice scheduling outcomes.
Analyze scheduling data, validate information, and prepare summary documentation to support program controls analysis and strategic planning.
We're looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, project Management, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience in project planning and scheduling.
Proven 5 years of experience or more in developing and managing project schedules from first principles, including leading planning workshops and establishing robust schedule logic.
Demonstrated proficiency with project scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar planning tools.
Strong capability in critical path analysis, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) development, and schedule optimization.
Experience coordinating and integrating multiple sources of schedule inputs and performance data into consolidated master schedules.
Proven ability to define, agree upon, and manage progress measurement and reporting methodologies with contractors and delivery partners.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex scheduling information clearly to diverse audiences.
Demonstrated experience working on large, complex, multi-disciplinary projects with multiple stakeholders.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and data analysis tools.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) and cost-loaded scheduling.
Familiarity with infrastructure, construction, or capital program delivery environments.
Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and schedule risk analysis.
Experience with change management and impact assessment processes.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent industry certification.
Experience working on projects in the Middle East or similar regional contexts.
Demonstrated experience with resource allocation, optimization, and capacity planning.
Familiarity with Agile or hybrid project management methodologies.
