Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your project management expertise in a cutting-edge and highly strategic environment. You'll work alongside collaborative, skilled, and passionate teammates to deliver some of the most complex rail projects in the industry.

As Project Director, you will be accountable for the successful execution of large-scale, high-criticality turnkey projects, ensuring contractual commitments, customer expectations, and business objectives are achieved. You will lead multidisciplinary and multi-site teams while driving project governance, financial performance, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence throughout the project lifecycle.

You will report to senior project leadership and play a key role in ensuring safe, profitable, and on-time project delivery.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Ensuring accountability for project Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Planning (QCDP) performance, while optimizing the project’s financial performance, including margin and cash,
  • Defining and implementing project governance strategies in line with contract requirements, including Project Management Plan (PMP) elaboration and allocation of objectives to subsystems,
  • Managing project resources effectively, including staffing the project core team, escalating resource gaps, and leading multi-site/multi-functional teams to achieve project objectives,
  • Leading and coordinating project activities and stakeholders from transfer to close-out, ensuring proper transfer from tender to project and alignment with customer satisfaction goals,
  • Engaging internal and external project stakeholders, fostering alignment towards project goals, and synchronizing internal partners while arbitrating when necessary,
  • Overseeing alignment with contractual requirements, managing variation orders, and addressing claims or litigations as needed,
  • Proactively managing risks, savings, and opportunities to ensure successful project delivery,
  • Monitoring and reporting project progress and KPIs to senior management with transparency, ensuring adherence to business and critical project review processes,
  • Building and managing strong relationships with customers and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with contractual requirements and effective contract management,
  • Maintaining compliance with applicable rules, standards, and policies, including Alstom’s Code of Ethics & Compliance, EHS, Railway Safety, and Quality standards.

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Experience in project management (railway industry - preferred), with at least 15 years of experience, including 5 years managing medium-critical projects,
  • Proven experience as a project execution leader (Project Director) with full responsibility for delivery and project financial performance on large-scale turnkey projects valued at approximately 500 million USD or more (rail industry is desired),
  • Strong EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) background, with hands-on experience operating as a main contractor and managing interactions with customers, civil works organizations, and electromechanical teams,
  • Familiarity with multi-national business cultures and cross-functional collaboration,
  • Team management skills, including the ability to coordinate and collaborate with multi-site/multi-functional teams,
  • Leadership and entrepreneurship mindset with a results-oriented approach,
  • Conflict and crisis management expertise,
  • Advanced skills in managing customer relationships and stakeholder alignment,
  • Proficiency in complexity and risk management,
  • Capacity to navigate political contexts and manage contractual requirements effectively.
