Job Title Quality Engineer Job Summary The Quality Engineer is responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance and quality control activities to ensure products comply with customer, regulatory, and company requirements.
The engineer works closely with production, engineering, suppliers, and customers to improve product quality and manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems and procedures.
Conduct inspections, audits, and testing to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Analyze quality data and identify trends, defects, and areas for improvement.
Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues using root cause analysis tools (e.
g., 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, 8D).
Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and verify their effectiveness.
Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve manufacturing processes.
Prepare and maintain quality documentation, reports, and inspection records.
Monitor supplier quality performance and conduct supplier audits when required.
Ensure compliance with relevant standards such as ISO 9001 , IATF 16949 , AS9100 , or other industry-specific requirements.
Support internal and external audits.
Train employees on quality procedures, standards, and best practices.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies.
Required Qualifications -Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
8-10 years of experience in quality engineering or quality assurance (experience requirements may vary by employer).
Knowledge of quality management systems and manufacturing processes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality-related software.
Preferred Skills Knowledge of statistical analysis and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
Experience with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Control Plans, PPAP, APQP, and MSA.
Familiarity with ISO standards and auditing techniques.
Certification such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) is an advantage.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
