Could you be the Electrical Methods Engineer at Ballarat, we are looking for?


Your future role:


Support the production team in achieving manufacturing objectives by providing essential deliverables like Work Instructions, tooling, method time analysis, ergonomic studies, and proficient problem-solving. Additionally, you will improve the manufacturing process by implementing lean methodologies and continuous improvement strategies to meet KPIs related to Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery.


You will be responsible for:


  • Develop the necessary industrial deliverables for production: Work instruction sheets, Lift plans, Standard Operating Procedure 
  • Perform Method time analysis (time study) to reduce NVAs and meet production cost targets.
  • Provide industrial support in production by means of technical clarification, problem solving and liaising with the train design team to meet delivery commitments.
  • Being single technical point of contact for electrical harness routings, crimping, electrical reworks and electrical issue investigation.
  • Perform task sequence studies to optimize the balance of the resources on the shop floor. 
  • Support rework and retrofit activities by means of technical support and field modification instructions.
  • Perform continuous improvements in manufacturing processes by lean methodology
  • Be a single point of contact and develop as an expert on one of the special processes.

  • University degree in engineering (preferably in electrical engineering/industrial engineering)
  • Relevent experience and Skills in methods/ industrial role related to electrical routing intergation, wire crimping, electrical harness manufacturing.
  • Procifient in understanding electrical schematics and wire lists.
  • Experience and knowledge of working with 3D CAD software.
