• Maintain accurate accounting records for a portfolio of UAE-based client entities, including free zone companies and mainland LLCs, using accounting software (Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks or similar).
• Process day-to-day accounting entries: sales, purchases, payroll journals, bank payments, accruals, and prepayments.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and flag unreconciled items for resolution.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts for submission to client management.
• Support clean-up of historical bookkeeping backlogs ahead of statutory audit, identifying and rectifying posting errors.
2. Financial Statement Preparation
• Prepare financial statements in accordance with IFRS for SMEs or full IFRS as applicable, including Statement of Financial Position, Statement of Profit or Loss, Statement of Cash Flows, and accompanying notes.
• Assist in the preparation of audit-ready trial balances and supporting schedules.
• Ensure consistency between the financial statements, accounting records, and client-provided supporting documentation.
3. UAE Tax & Compliance Support
• Prepare and assist in filing UAE VAT returns on the EmaraTax portal in accordance with Federal Decree-Law No. 8 of 2017 and its amendments.
• Maintain VAT input/output schedules and ensure supporting invoices are complete and correctly categorised.
• Assist with UAE Corporate Tax computations and disclosures under Federal Decree-Law No. 47 of 2022, including transfer pricing support schedules, exempt income analysis and qualifying free zone person assessments.
• Assist in timely Wage Protection System (WPS) processing and related payroll compliance.
4 Audit Support
• Assist senior auditors in the preparation of audit files, lead schedules, and working papers under ISA-based audit programmes.
• Liaise with clients to collect and organise supporting documentation in response to audit queries.
• Perform specified substantive and analytical procedures under supervision, including debtors circularisation, inventory count attendance, and bank confirmation follow-ups.
• Assist in the computation of key financial ratios and variance analysis for audit analytical review procedures.
5 Client Communication & Administration
• Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for assigned clients on accounting and bookkeeping queries, escalating complex matters to the Engagement Partner.
• Prepare client-facing schedules, summaries, and status reports in a clear and professional format.
• Assist in the preparation of engagement letters, proposals, and onboarding documentation as directed.
• Maintain organised and complete engagement files and working paper folders in accordance with firm protocols.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
• Part-qualification or active pursuit of a professional accounting qualification (CA, ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent) is strongly preferred.
2 Experience
• 2 to 4 years of professional experience in accounting, bookkeeping, audit support, or a related role.
• Prior UAE experience is strongly preferred; familiarity with UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, WPS, and free zone company structures is a significant advantage.
• Experience in an audit firm, accounting practice, or professional services environment preferred over a purely commercial finance role.
3 Technical Skills
• Working proficiency in at least one accounting software package: Tally Prime, Zoho Books, QuickBooks Online, or Xero.
• Strong command of Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, and financial modelling basics.
• Familiarity with IFRS for SMEs; knowledge of full IFRS is advantageous.
• Working knowledge of UAE VAT law and the EmaraTax filing portal.
• Exposure to UAE Corporate Tax (Federal Decree-Law No. 47 of 2022) is desirable.
4.Personal Attributes
• High attention to detail and a disciplined, methodical approach to accounting work.
• Strong written and spoken English; Arabic language skills are an added advantage.
• Ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously and meet deadlines without compromising quality.
• Professional demeanour and discretion in handling confidential client information.
