About My Start UAE

My Start UAE helps entrepreneurs, freelancers and business owners establish and grow their businesses in the UAE. Alongside company formation and visa services, we provide ongoing accounting, tax and business support to clients operating in both the UAE and the UK.

We're growing rapidly and are looking for an experienced Accountant with a strong understanding of UK accounting and tax to join our team.

The Role

You'll be responsible for managing a portfolio of UK clients, ensuring accurate financial records, preparing statutory accounts, and providing proactive financial support. You'll work closely with business owners and collaborate with our wider advisory team to deliver an exceptional client experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare year-end statutory accounts for UK & UAE limited companies.
  • Complete Corporation Tax (CT600) returns.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns & UAE Corporate Tax applications 
  • Prepare and review management accounts.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts.
  • Liaise directly with clients to answer accounting and tax queries.
  • Assist with Self Assessment tax returns where required.
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC, Companies House and UAE Corporate Tax Laws.
  • Identify opportunities to improve clients' financial processes and tax efficiency.
  • Support the wider team with accounting and financial advice.


Skills

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in UK & UAE accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and HMRC requirements.
  • Experience preparing statutory accounts and Corporation Tax returns.
  • Proficient in Xero and/or QuickBooks (Sage experience is also beneficial).
  • Excellent understanding of VAT.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Confident communicating with clients in English.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • ACCA, ACA or AAT qualification (or part-qualified) preferred.

Desirable

  • Experience working within an accountancy practice.
  • Experience with company formations or advisory services.
