Job description

The Civil Engineer will be responsible for managing and supervising all civil engineering works associated with a Seawater Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) desalination project in Fujairah, UAE. The role involves planning, execution, and monitoring of structural and infrastructure components to ensure compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and project timelines. The Civil Engineer will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of civil works with mechanical and process systems.



Responsibilities:
  • Oversee execution of all civil and structural works for the SWRO desalination plant.
  • Supervise construction activities including foundations, buildings, tanks, pipelines, intake and outfall structures.
  • Ensure adherence to approved drawings, specifications, and project standards.
  • Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation teams for integrated execution.
  • Review and validate design drawings, method statements, and material submittals.
  • Monitor site progress and ensure alignment with project schedules.
  • Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with quality control procedures.
  • Implement QA/QC processes and address non-conformities.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE policies and UAE regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and client representatives.
  • Assist in resolving site-related technical issues and challenges.
  • Support testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning of civil infrastructure.
  • Prepare progress reports and maintain site documentation.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in civil construction, preferably in industrial or infrastructure projects.
  • Proven experience in desalination (SWRO) or large water treatment plant projects.
  • Strong knowledge of marine works, concrete structures, and hydraulic infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with international standards and codes (ACI, BS, ASTM, Eurocodes).
  • Experience working in the Middle East, preferably in UAE.
  • Proficiency in engineering and project management tools.
  • Strong understanding of QA/QC processes and HSE practices.
  • Excellent coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Professional certifications or memberships (preferred).
