Job description

The Fit-Out Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering firefighting and fire alarm fit-out projects from initiation to handover. The role ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with client specifications, NFPA standards, local authority regulations, and company quality standards.



Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, execute, and monitor firefighting and fire alarm fit-out projects in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, contractual requirements, and company quality standards.



  • Develop detailed project execution schedules and allocate manpower, subcontractors, equipment, and resources to ensure timely project completion.



  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to site engineers, supervisors, and installation teams to ensure compliance with project requirements and quality standards.



  • Coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure smooth project execution and timely resolution of technical and commercial issues.



  • Prepare, review, and approve Method Statements (MS), Risk Assessments (RA), Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), and other project documentation.



  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, safety, productivity, and compliance, implementing corrective actions where necessary.



  • Review and verify Bills of Quantities (BOQ), shop drawings, material submittals, and procurement requirements to ensure project accuracy.



  • Ensure compliance with NFPA codes, Civil Defence requirements, local authority regulations, HSE standards, and company policies throughout the project lifecycle.



  • Monitor project costs, manpower utilization, material consumption, equipment allocation, and overall project performance against budget.



  • Prepare project progress reports, resource plans, cost reports, and recovery plans where required.



  • Prepare and submit monthly progress claims, variation orders, and supporting documentation, while coordinating with clients and consultants to obtain timely approvals.



  • Lead project meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors, providing accurate updates on project status, risks, and mitigation plans.



  • Identify project risks proactively and implement mitigation strategies to minimize delays, cost overruns, and quality issues.



  • Support project commissioning, testing, authority inspections, final handover, and project close-out activities.



Technical Requirements
  • Strong technical knowledge of firefighting, fire alarm, and life safety systems within fit-out and building construction projects.



  • Proven experience in managing fire protection fit-out projects from initiation through commissioning and handover.



  • Sound understanding of NFPA standards, UAE Civil Defence regulations, and relevant international fire protection codes.



  • Proficiency in interpreting construction drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, BOQs, technical specifications, and project documentation.



  • Excellent project planning, scheduling, coordination, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.



  • Strong knowledge of project cost control, billing, resource planning, and contract administration.



  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Office applications is preferred.
