Performs clinical tests in anyone of or a combination of areas of specialization depending on the size and scope of the laboratory activity. Maybe assigned to or receiving supervision from Section-in-Charge, Laboratory Supervisor, Laboratory Manager and Head of Histopathology Department
Plan and direct research and development, when appropriate.
Prepares tissue samples for routine microscopic analysis.
Gross descriptions of small, uncomplicated specimens are recorded where appropriate, using specific terminology according to procedure.
Tissue samples are prepared using correct procedures for preservation including, processing, freezing and embedding as appropriate per procedure.
Tissue samples are sectioned using good microtomy techniques on microtomes to produce acceptable quality slides for staining according to procedures.
Workload is prioritized and managed to meet expected Turn-Around-Times (TATs).
