Job Summary


The Hostess welcomes and greets guests, ensures warm welcome and farewell, assists guest in seating or other requests.


Key Responsibilities


  • Follows standards and procedures within his operation
  • Assists supervisor/team leader in best practice and continuously seeks to improve existing standards and procedures and communicates the same to higher level
  • Ensure financial performance of operation by diligently controlling all finance accounts related documents, verify correctness of invoices and guest checks
  • Meets, greets and bids farewell to guests according to standards
  • Responds to guest needs in appropriate manner and time or as per standard
  • Maintains reservation book updated and in impeccable order
  • Keeping her workplace tidy and clean at all times, maintains personal hygiene
  • Escorts guest to the table or to other areas if and when required
  • Provides any information guests may ask, hence, to be informed not only about the designated restaurant but also other areas of the resort
  • Answers the phone appropriately and according to standard
  • Ensures that personal appearance and uniform are as per standard
  • Attentive and assertive to guest needs
  • Remains in his or her area, approachable to guests
  • Through guest interaction to seek performance of team, areas of improvement and seeks to deliver over and above to guests
  • Works as a team, liaises and coordinates with team, peers and other managers of the food and beverage division
  • Only leaves shift when all work is done and authorized by superior
  • Executes any other work or responsibility within his scope of duty given by his/her manager

Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements


  • Hostess may require to have the ability to read and write in English,a third language is a plus, to take and follow instructions in both verbal and written form
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Great memory and organizational skills
  • Basic (but accurate) math for cash and POS
  • Cooperative attitude and willingness to learn
