Job Description

Role Overview


As a Housekeeping Supervisor at Banyan Tree Dubai, you will oversee the daily operations of housekeeping teams to ensure all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces meet the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and luxury service.


You will lead and support room attendants, conduct inspections, and ensure consistent delivery of an exceptional guest experience aligned with the Banyan Tree brand.


Key Responsibilities


Room & Public Area Inspections


  • Inspect guest rooms, suites, and public areas to ensure they meet luxury brand standards.
  • Ensure cleanliness, presentation, and amenities are consistently maintained.
  • Report and follow up on maintenance issues and defects.
  • Ensure rooms are released on time for guest arrivals.

Team Supervision & Leadership


  • Supervise and coordinate room attendants and housekeeping attendants during shifts.
  • Allocate rooms and tasks efficiently based on operational needs.
  • Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and support to team members.
  • Monitor performance, grooming, and adherence to SOPs.
  • Conduct daily briefings and communicate priorities clearly.

Operational Excellence


  • Ensure daily cleaning schedules and room assignments are completed efficiently.
  • Monitor productivity and quality standards across assigned sections.
  • Support deep cleaning schedules and special projects.
  • Ensure proper handling and usage of cleaning equipment and chemicals.

Guest Experience


  • Respond promptly to guest requests related to housekeeping services.
  • Ensure special requests (e.g. VIP amenities, preferences, turn-down service) are delivered accurately.
  • Handle guest feedback professionally and escalate when necessary.
  • Maintain a discreet and guest-centric approach at all times.

Health, Safety & Compliance


  • Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Follow proper handling of chemicals and cleaning agents.
  • Ensure adherence to Lost & Found procedures.
  • Maintain safe working practices across all housekeeping operations.

Inventory & Reporting


  • Monitor stock levels of linens, cleaning supplies, and guest amenities.
  • Assist with inventory checks and replenishment requests.
  • Complete inspection reports, shift handovers, and daily logs accurately.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience


  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in housekeeping, including supervisory experience in a luxury hotel or resort.
  • Strong understanding of housekeeping operations and room standards.
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemicals, and equipment.
  • Experience with hotel PMS systems is an advantage.
  • Good communication skills in English; additional languages are beneficial.
