 Job Title: Lead Static Engineer – Offshore Island Project



KBR Abu Dhabi PMC Team is currently looking to fill a position of Lead Static Engineer for an Offshore Island Project to be based in UAE ( Abu Dhabi) as soon as the administrative processes are completed, will then relocate to Spain Office and then return to Abu Dhabi .



Job Purpose



The Lead Static Engineer is responsible for leading the design, engineering, and technical assurance of static equipment for ADNOC Offshore projects. The role ensures that all static equipment designs comply with ADNOC standards, international codes, project specifications, safety requirements, and operational reliability objectives throughout the project lifecycle.



Key Responsibilities



  • Lead the engineering and design of static equipment for offshore oil & gas facilities.
  • Review and approve design calculations, datasheets, specifications, and engineering deliverables.
  • Manage the design and selection of:
    • Pressure vessels
    • Heat exchangers
    • Storage tanks
    • Separators
    • Drums and filters
    • Columns and reactors
    • Pig launchers/receivers
    • Flare systems and associated equipment
  • Ensure compliance with ADNOC, ASME, API, TEMA, NACE, and international industry standards.
  • Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Piping, Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Procurement disciplines.
  • Conduct technical bid evaluations and vendor document reviews.
  • Provide technical support during procurement, fabrication, inspection, construction, commissioning, and start-up activities.
  • Review and resolve technical queries, concession requests, and engineering deviations.
  • Participate in design reviews, HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, and constructability workshops.
  • Monitor engineering progress and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior and senior static equipment engineers.

Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Master's Degree is an added advantage.
  • Professional Engineering certification is desirable.

Experience



  • Minimum 18–20 years of experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, or Offshore EPC projects.
  • Minimum 5 years in a Lead Static Engineer or Engineering Lead role.
  • Proven experience in FEED, Detailed Engineering, EPC, and Brownfield modification projects.
  • Extensive experience working on ADNOC Offshore, ADNOC Gas, Saudi Aramco, QatarEnergy, or major Middle East energy projects.
  • Experience in offshore platforms, processing facilities, gathering stations, and gas processing plants is highly preferred.

Technical Skills



  • Strong knowledge of pressure vessel and heat exchanger design.
  • Expertise in ASME Section VIII Div. 1 & 2.
  • API Codes (API 510, API 650, API 620, API 661, API 660, API 579).
  • TEMA standards for heat exchangers.
  • Material selection and corrosion engineering principles.
  • Equipment sizing, specification development, and vendor management.
  • Knowledge of fabrication, inspection, testing, and commissioning requirements.
  • Familiarity with ADNOC engineering standards and specifications.
  • Risk-based inspection and asset integrity management concepts.

  • Previous involvement in offshore platforms, artificial islands, compression facilities, gas processing plants, and brownfield upgrades.
  • Strong track record of managing multidisciplinary engineering interfaces and vendor packages.
