We are seeking a highly qualified and compassionate Specialist / Consultant Neonatologist to join a leading healthcare facility in Oman.
The successful candidate will provide specialized medical care for premature, critically ill, and newborn infants, ensuring the highest standards of neonatal care through evidence-based clinical practice and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Key Responsibilities Diagnose and manage medical conditions affecting newborns, including premature and critically ill infants.
Provide comprehensive care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU), and newborn nursery.
Attend high-risk deliveries and provide immediate neonatal resuscitation and stabilization.
Perform neonatal procedures, including intubation, umbilical catheterization, lumbar puncture, and exchange transfusion, as required.
Monitor and manage ventilated neonates and critically ill newborns.
Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, anesthesiologists, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated care.
Counsel and educate parents regarding neonatal conditions, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
Maintain accurate medical records and clinical documentation.
Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, morbidity and mortality meetings, and continuing medical education (CME).
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control standards, and Oman Ministry of Health regulations.
Participate in on-call duties and emergency neonatal coverage as per hospital requirements.

Minimum 5–8 years of post-specialization experience in Neonatology, preferably in a tertiary care hospital with NICU experience.
Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) is preferred.
Strong clinical, diagnostic, and critical care skills.
Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork abilities.
Commitment to providing safe, evidence-based, family-centered neonatal care.
