Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced PMC Manager OR&A (Operations Readiness) for our ADNOC project in Abu Dhabi within our Oil, Gas & New Energies business. 
Due to the nature of the projects and client expectation, the position will be based full time at our client office in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. 
The Role

The PMC Manager OR&A (Operations and Readiness) is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all operational readiness and transition-to-operations activities throughout the project lifecycle. The role ensures that facilities, systems, personnel, documentation, and operational processes are fully prepared for safe, efficient, and seamless commissioning, start-up, handover, and ongoing operations.


Working on behalf of the Owner, the Operation Readiness Manager collaborates with EPC contractors, commissioning teams, operations personnel, maintenance teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure operational requirements are integrated into project execution

Responsibilities:

The Operations Readiness and Assurance (ORA) Manager reports to the Project Manager and oversees all commissioning and start-up (CSU) and ORA activities for the successful delivery of the project. 


Responsibilities include:


  • Overseeing and leading CSU and ORA activities for the project;
  • Ensuring a high level of operational contribution from concept selection to project close-out;
  • Ensuring proactive engagement with all operating departments and liaison with and between them; 
  • Liaising with existing operations department and ensure the development will integrate into an existing brownfield asset if applicable;
  • Ensuring competent organizations for asset integrity, operations and maintenance, and reliability, availability and maintainability (RAM) management;
  • Development of the ORA philosophy;
  • Development of the Operations Readiness Management Plan;
  • Ensuring review of RAM models;
  • Implementing processes that will assist site that ensure that all personnel recruited for ORA are adequately trained and competent in their respective disciplines in accordance with regulatory requirements and ADNOC expectations;
  • Facilitating operability assurance and operational readiness workshops;
  • Supporting the collaborative working environment and ensure all operational aspects are evaluated and embedded into the philosophies/strategies;
  • Supporting the operations and the project in meeting key objectives such as safety, cost-efficiency, operability, reliability, maintainability, production availability/efficiency;
  • Executing key ORA deliverables as per ADNOC Guidelines and Standards;
  • Managing flawless project delivery (FPD) activities;
  • Developing CSU strategy, plan, execution plan and deliverables based on project integrated plan and the systematic completion tool;
  • Developing operations field staff mobilisation plan and staff model, work with Asset Owner support for timely delivery of mobilisation plan;
  • Contributing to, and input to, integrated activity planning requirements;
  • Monitoring the development of the CSU execution plan;
  • Managing and coordinating pre-start-up reviews and audits;
  • Developing the field capability to be ready for operational readiness reviews;
  • Helping develop document handover package in conjunction with the project teams;
  • Interfacing with commissioning to drive operations readiness to fit the agreed start-up plan;
  • SIMOPS, concurrent operations of drilling, construction, operations and commissioning; and
  • Ensuring the design and plans reflect the desire to have a phased start-up become a reality.

Expected:


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Process, Industrial, or related discipline).
  • Master's degree is an advantage.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI-RMP, APM, or Operational Readiness certifications are desirable.
  • 20+ years of experience in major capital projects.
  • Minimum 8 years in Operational Readiness or Transition to Operations.
  • Experience within PMC or Owner's Engineer organizations.
  • Experience on EPC, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Energy, Mining, Industrial, Infrastructure, or Utilities projects.
  • Proven experience supporting commissioning, start-up, and facility handover.
