Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the review and negotiation of client contracts, ensuring commercial and legal risks are identified and mitigated
  • Manage and advise on contractual legal matters, including interpretation of clauses and dispute avoidance strategies
  • Oversee NDA preparation and review, ensuring compliance and protection of company interests
  • Support pre-construction and tender reviews, assessing commercial exposure, terms, and contract conditions
  • Provide guidance on legal and contractual frameworks across project lifecycle phases
  • Liaise with external advisors where required
  • Monitor compliance with UAE construction law, FIDIC, and local regulations
  • Contribute to strategic decision-making on high-value projects and bids
Candidate Requirements
  • Circa 20+ years’ experience within construction, contracts, or commercial functions
  • Proven track record
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Contract law and commercial risk
    • FIDIC and bespoke contract forms
    • NDA structures and legal documentation
    • Pre-contract/tender stage commercial reviews
  • UAE experience preferred, GCC experience considered
  • Background may include:
    • Formal legal qualification (LLB or equivalent) or
    • Early career experience could be within the legal sector before moving into construction
  • Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and advisory skills
