Technical Design Manager - Fit-Out & Joinery

About the Role We are seeking an experienced Technical Design Manager to join a growing fit-out and joinery team in Dubai. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and technically skilled professional with extensive experience delivering high-end interior fit-out and bespoke joinery projects.
The successful candidate will lead the technical design process from concept through to production, ensuring all designs are fully coordinated, buildable, and delivered to the highest standards of quality, programme, and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage the technical design team across multiple fit-out and joinery projects.
• Review architectural and interior design drawings, ensuring technical feasibility and compliance.
• Produce and oversee detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and technical submissions.
• Coordinate with architects, consultants, project managers, production, procurement, and site teams.
• Resolve technical challenges throughout the design and construction phases.
• Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, local regulations, and quality standards.
• Manage drawing approvals and revisions while maintaining project schedules.
• Liaise with joinery manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical and efficient to produce.
• Lead design coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
• Mentor and develop junior designers and CAD technicians.
• Drive continuous improvement in design processes, standards, and documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8–12 years' experience in technical design within the UAE fit-out and joinery industry.
• Strong knowledge of bespoke joinery manufacturing and interior fit-out detailing.
• Proven experience delivering luxury commercial, hospitality, residential, or retail projects.
• Expert knowledge of AutoCAD; proficiency in Revit and other 3D modelling software is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of materials, construction methods, fabrication techniques, and site installation.
• Excellent coordination, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• UAE experience is essential.
