Mechanic

Assist the engineering crew in dismantling and reassembling exhaust manifold systems.

Safely remove worn gaskets, clean mating surfaces, and install new exhaust manifold gaskets as per OEM specifications.

Operate torque wrenches, spanners, and lifting tools under supervision.

Follow permit-to-work systems, lockout-tagout procedures, and confined space safety rules.

Check exhaust manifold components for cracks, warping, or corrosion before reassembly.

Record gasket changes, torque values, and inspection findings in maintenance logs.

Work closely with deck foreman, millwrights, and engine room crew to ensure smooth workflow.

Support emergency response drills and ensure readiness during mechanical failures.

Manage gasket kits, fasteners, and consumables required for exhaust system maintenance.

Provide feedback on gasket replacement procedures to improve efficiency and safety.

Diploma / Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent trade.

Minimum 3–5 years mechanical maintenance experience, preferably offshore or marine.

Knowledge of engine exhaust systems, gasket materials, and torque specifications.

Ability to work in confined spaces and elevated areas.
