Job Purpose



The Field Operator - TRS is responsible for executing Tubular Running Services (TRS) operations safely and efficiently during offshore drilling and completion activities. The role involves operating, maintaining, inspecting, and troubleshooting TRS equipment while supporting successful wellsite execution in accordance with Weatherford's operational, quality, and HSE standards.



The Operator works with a moderate level of supervision and is expected to perform routine field activities independently while supporting senior crew chief  during complex or specialized operations. The position requires a solid understanding of TRS equipment, offshore drilling environments, and operational procedures, with a continuous focus on safety, service quality, and minimizing Non-Productive Time (NPT).


Responsibilities
•    Execute TRS operations safely and efficiently on offshore drilling rigs. 
•    Operate, inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot TRS equipment and associated tools. 
•    Ensure all field activities comply with Weatherford’s HSE, Quality, and operational procedures. 
•    Deliver operations with a focus on 0 NPT (Non-Productive Time) and operational reliability. 
•    Monitor tool performance and identify potential operational risks before failure occurs. 
•    Support offshore deepwater operations and ensure readiness of equipment prior to deployment. 
•    Coordinate with client representatives, drilling crews, and offshore personnel during operations. 
•    Maintain accurate operational reports, service documentation, and job records. 
•    Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and risk assessments before operations. 
•    Assist in training and mentoring junior field specialists and crew members. 
•    Ensure proper handling, maintenance, and storage of tools and equipment. 
•    Demonstrate effective teamwork and communication while working in offshore environments. 
•    Support continuous improvement initiatives related to operational efficiency and service quality. 
•    Comply with company policies, industry regulations, and offshore safety standards at all times. 
Qualifications Required
•    Senior secondary school   or equivalent. 
•    Minimum 4–6 years of total industry experience in Tubular running service and 6 to 10 years’ experience in Oil & Gas field operations.  
•    Mandatory experience in TRS (Tubular Running Services) operations. 
•    Offshore field experience, preferably with deepwater drilling operations. 
•    Experience working on offshore rigs in challenging operational environments. 
•    Valid offshore certifications as applicable. 
 


Preferred
•    Technical Certificate or Diploma from an accredited Technical/Vocational Institute. 
•    Prior experience with Weatherford TRS tools and offshore systems. 
•    Knowledge of offshore drilling and completion processes. 
Skills & Competencies
•    Strong knowledge of TRS tools, equipment, and offshore rig operations. 
•    Fundamentals of mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, electricity, and electronics. 
•    Ability to troubleshoot operational and technical issues effectively. 
•    Strong understanding of offshore safety practices and HSE compliance. 
•    Good mathematical reasoning and analytical problem-solving skills. 
•    Ability to identify operational risks and provide practical solutions. 
•    Effective communication, teamwork, and leadership skills. 
•    Ability to work under pressure in offshore environments and rotational schedules. 
•    Computer fundamentals and operational reporting knowledge. 
•    Strong time management and organizational skills. 
•    Service-oriented mindset with focus on customer satisfaction. 
•    Physically fit and capable of performing offshore operational tasks. 
•    Ability to operate tools and machinery safely and efficiently. 
•    Able to perform operations with minimal supervision. 
Additional Requirements
•    Offshore rotational work schedule. 
•    Willingness to travel and work across offshore rigs in India.
