The Field Specialist III – Completions is responsible for planning, executing, and supervising completion operations at customer well sites, ensuring the safe and efficient deployment of Weatherford completion technologies. The role serves as the primary technical representative on-site, providing technical expertise, job supervision, troubleshooting, and customer support while maintaining the highest standards of HSE, quality, and operational excellence.


Responsibilities


  • Plan, supervise, and execute completion operations in accordance with Weatherford and customer procedures.
  • Prepare completion tallies, review completion schematics, and ensure accurate job planning and execution.
  • Perform space-out calculations and verify completion string configurations prior to deployment.
  • Install, test, troubleshoot, maintain, and retrieve completion equipment and downhole tools.
  • Support Smart Completion operations, including installation and operation of downhole gauges, Inflow Control Valves (ICVs), fiber optic systems, and other intelligent completion technologies.
  • Conduct equipment inspections, pressure testing, risk assessments, and post-job reporting.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and completion system issues to minimize non-productive time (NPT).
  • Ensure compliance with Weatherford HSE standards, quality procedures, and customer requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior field personnel.
  • Maintain accurate operational reports, maintenance records, and service documentation.
  • Liaise effectively with customers, drilling and completion teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful job execution.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline, depending on level of experience.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of oilfield experience in completion operations.
  • At least 2–3 years of extensive hands-on experience in one or more of the following:
    • Core Completions (tally preparation, completion schematics, job supervision, and space-out calculations)
    • Smart Completions (downhole gauges, Intelligent Control Valves (ICVs), fiber optic systems, and related completion technologies)
  • Previous experience with an oilfield service company is preferred.
  • Offshore experience and certifications such as BOSIET/HUET, H2S, and Offshore Medical are highly desirable.

  • Strong knowledge of completion systems, downhole tools, well integrity, and pressure control principles.
  • Proficiency in completion tally preparation, schematic interpretation, and completion string design.
  • Experience with Smart Completion technologies and intelligent well systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and customer relationship management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital field reporting systems.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work independently in demanding field environments and collaborate effectively within multicultural teams.

Working Conditions


  • Field-based role supporting onshore and offshore completion operations in the UAE and other locations as required.
  • Rotational work schedule: 2 months on / 1 month off (60/30).
  • Frequent travel and extended assignments at remote field locations.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including extreme temperatures and extended operational hours when required.
