Electrical Engineer (Power Systems)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer (Power Systems) to provide technical leadership and engineering support for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of High Voltage (HV), Medium Voltage (MV), and Low Voltage (LV) electrical systems within a world-scale Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) facility.

The successful candidate will play a key role in power systems engineering, troubleshooting, reliability improvement, electrical studies, protection systems, maintenance support, commissioning activities, and compliance with industry standards and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Power Systems Engineering

• Provide engineering support for HV, MV, and LV electrical systems.
• Lead troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, testing, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Support electrical system reliability, availability, and operational excellence programs.
• Conduct engineering evaluations and provide technical recommendations for electrical assets.

Protection & Control Systems

• Configure, test, and troubleshoot protection relays.
• Perform and review:
• Short Circuit Studies
• Protection Coordination Studies
• Load Flow Studies
• Grounding Studies
• Transient Stability Studies
• Ensure protection system integrity and compliance with industry standards.

Project & Commissioning Support

• Support FEED, FEL, engineering design reviews, and project execution activities.
• Participate in construction, commissioning, startup, and turnaround activities.
• Develop technical specifications and scope of work documents.
• Manage engineering deliverables, schedules, budgets, and technical risks.

Reliability & Compliance

• Develop and implement risk-based inspection programs.
• Ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Support Critical Safety Systems, including:
• SIL (Safety Integrity Level)
• SIS (Safety Instrumented Systems)
• SIF (Safety Instrumented Functions)
• Drive continuous improvement in reliability, safety, and asset performance.

Team Leadership

• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
• Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Projects, OEMs, and contractors.
• Promote a strong safety culture and collaborative team environment.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.

Experience

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in:
• Power Generation Plants
• Petrochemical Facilities
• Refining Operations
• Oil & Gas Processing Facilities
• Large Industrial Utilities
