The FAENA Movement is a journey of art, culture, and community. Rooted in the soulful traditions of the South and elevated by imaginative design, our culture celebrates authentic hospitality and transformative experiences. We create spaces where dreams are brought to life—through bold ideas, meaningful collaboration, and a deep sense of purpose.

We’re building more than a hotel; we’re shaping a world of beauty, wonder, and connection. If you’re driven by creativity, excellence, and a desire to be part of something extraordinary, we invite you to help bring this vision to life.

Job Description

At FAENA The Red Sea, we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our Engineering team. This role is responsible for maintaining the aesthetic appearance and condition of the hotel's interior and exterior spaces through high-quality painting, finishing, and decorative work. The Painter plays an important role in preserving the luxury standards of the property, ensuring all guest and back-of-house areas remain visually appealing, well-maintained, and aligned with the FAENA brand experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out painting, varnishing, polishing, and finishing works across guest rooms, public areas, restaurants, offices, and back-of-house facilities.
  • Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, scraping, filling cracks, and applying primers as required.
  • Perform touch-up painting and decorative finishes to maintain the property's luxury presentation standards.
  • Inspect painted surfaces regularly and identify maintenance requirements before deterioration occurs.
  • Mix and match paints to achieve the required colours, textures, and finishes.
  • Ensure all painting works are completed efficiently, safely, and with minimal disruption to guests and operations.
  • Maintain painting tools, equipment, and materials in good working condition.
  • Monitor paint and material inventory levels and report replenishment requirements.
  • Follow preventive maintenance schedules and respond promptly to maintenance requests.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations when handling paints, solvents, and other materials.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area at all times.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering team to support hotel projects, refurbishments, and improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with hotel standards and quality expectations.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Painter within a luxury hotel, resort, commercial, or hospitality environment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation, finishing, and decorative applications.
  • Ability to work with a variety of paints, coatings, varnishes, and finishing materials.
  • Understanding of basic maintenance procedures and safe handling of painting equipment and chemicals.
  • Good attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
  • Relevant vocational certification or trade qualification is advantageous.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment while maintaining exceptional standards.
