Job description

Job Responsibilities:

 

1-    Coordinate with the technical/engineering team to review structural steel drawings, fabrication specifications, and erection sequences, ensuring alignment with design intent and project requirements.

 

2-    Coordinate with the civil and site construction teams to ensure foundations, anchor bolts, embedment plates, and related civil works are completed and approved prior to commencing steel erection activities.

 

3-    Liaise with the structural steel supply vendor to manage material delivery schedules, inspect incoming steel members for compliance with specifications, resolve fabrication non-conformances, and track material traceability documentation.

 

4-    Plan and manage resources for steel erection works including manpower (ironworkers, riggers, welders, and bolting crews), tools, equipment, and consumables; prepare erection schedules and ensure timely availability of all resources to maintain project milestones.

 

5-    Supervise all on-site steel erection activities including structural column and beam installation, bracing, connections, plumbing, leveling, and final bolting/welding; ensure work is executed as per approved method statements, shop drawings, and erection procedures.

 

6-    Determine equipment requirements for erection operations including crane selection, mobile elevated work platforms, rigging gear, and temporary supports; design lifting schemes and rigging arrangements in accordance with structural loads and site constraints.

 

7-    Coordinate with the HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) team to develop, review, and implement lifting plans, crane lift studies, risk assessments, and method statements for all critical lifts and overhead erection activities; ensure full compliance with applicable safety standards and statutory regulations.

 

8-    Monitor erection tolerances, structural alignment, and dimensional checks against approved drawings; coordinate with QA/QC inspector for weld inspections, bolt torque verification, and final structural acceptance sign-off.

 

9-    Review and evaluate change orders, site queries, and technical deviations related to steel erection; liaise with the engineering team and client representatives to obtain approvals and update construction documents accordingly.
