Technical Sales Engineer – Lighting

We specialize in delivering high-quality, technically advanced, and aesthetically pleasing lighting solutions for commercial, residential, and industrial projects across the UAE. We are seeking a driven and technically sound Technical Sales Engineer to join our growing team in Dubai.
Position Summary
The Technical Sales Engineer will serve as the crucial bridge between our engineering solutions and our clients' commercial needs. You will be responsible for driving new business, managing existing client relationships (Consultants, Contractors, Architects, and Interior Designers), and providing expert technical guidance on lighting fixtures, LED drivers, and control systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical engineering background combined with a proven track record of sales in the UAE lighting market.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
• Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities across the UAE market, specifically within commercial and high-end residential sectors.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, including MEP Consultants, Architects, Interior Designers, and General Contractors.
• Conduct technical sales presentations, product demonstrations, and project site visits.
• Achieve and exceed assigned monthly and quarterly sales targets.
Technical Consultation & Engineering
• Review project tenders, BOQs (Bill of Quantities), and specifications to provide accurate and competitive lighting solutions.
• Advise clients on technical specifications, including LED types (e.g., tunable white), driver compatibility, cabling requirements, and thermal management.
• Collaborate with the internal lighting design team to ensure proposed solutions meet Dialux/Relux calculations and client aesthetic requirements.
• Troubleshoot basic technical queries regarding installation, dimming protocols (DALI, DMX, 0-10V), and smart controls.
Commercial Operations
• Prepare detailed Scope of Works, technical submittals, and commercial proposals.
• Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and finalize contracts in alignment with company margins.
• Liaise with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of lighting fixtures and AV systems to project sites.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of proven experience in technical sales within the lighting, AV, or electrical manufacturing industry.
• Demonstrated experience working specifically in the Dubai/UAE market with an established network of local industry contacts.
Technical Skills
• Strong understanding of lighting technology, including LED efficacy, color temperature, drivers, and standard wiring protocols.
• Familiarity with reading architectural drawings, electrical schematics, and MEP documentation.
• Basic proficiency in lighting design software (Dialux/Dialux EVO) and AutoCAD is highly advantageous.
Soft Skills & Other Requirements
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to draft professional emails, proposals, and conduct high-level meetings.
• Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
• Self-motivated, target-driven, and capable of working independently.
• Valid UAE Driving License.
