Experience: 7+ years, preferably in construction, infrastructure, EPC, or contracting companies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end HR operations for the corporate office, project sites, and other business units.
- Develop, implement, and regularly review HR policies, procedures, and employee guidelines in line with company requirements and applicable labour laws.
- Handle manpower planning in coordination with Project Managers and Department Heads based on project schedules and workforce requirements.
- Manage the complete recruitment cycle, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, salary negotiation, offer issuance, onboarding, and deployment to project sites.
- Ensure timely recruitment of engineers, project management professionals, commercial staff, finance personnel, administrative staff, skilled workers, and other site-based employees.
- Monitor employee attendance, leave, late arrivals, absenteeism, overtime, site transfers, and biometric/mobile punching systems.
- Coordinate monthly payroll processing and verify attendance, leave, salary revisions, incentives, deductions, advances, reimbursements, and final settlements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable statutory requirements, including EPF, ESIC, Professional Tax, Labour Welfare Fund, BOCW requirements, Contract Labour regulations, and other applicable labour laws.
- Coordinate with labour consultants, government departments, inspectors, and legal advisors for statutory filings, inspections, notices, and compliance matters.
- Maintain statutory registers, employee records, personnel files, employment contracts, appointment letters, confirmation letters, transfer letters, increment letters, warning letters, and other HR documentation.
- Manage employee relations and address grievances, disciplinary issues, misconduct, absenteeism, workplace conflicts, and performance-related concerns.
- Conduct disciplinary enquiries and coordinate warning, suspension, termination, or other corrective actions in accordance with company policy and applicable law.
- Visit project sites periodically to review HR practices, employee welfare, attendance discipline, accommodation conditions, and site-level manpower issues.
- Coordinate the mobilisation and demobilisation of employees and workers based on project requirements.
- Monitor employee performance and coordinate probation reviews, confirmations, appraisals, promotions, increments, and performance improvement plans.
- Develop retention strategies for critical positions and support succession planning for key project and functional roles.
- Identify training requirements in coordination with Department Heads and arrange technical, behavioural, safety, and compliance-related training programmes.
- Manage employee engagement initiatives, welfare activities, company events, and internal communication programmes.
- Prepare and analyse HR MIS reports covering manpower strength, vacancies, recruitment status, attrition, absenteeism, payroll cost, overtime, and other HR metrics.
- Monitor manpower cost against project budgets and support management in workforce optimisation and cost-control initiatives.
- Coordinate employee transfers between projects, departments, group companies, and business units as required.
- Manage resignations, notice periods, exit interviews, clearance processes, full and final settlements, and issuance of relieving and experience certificates.
- Support management in organisational restructuring, manpower rationalisation, salary benchmarking, and compensation planning.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee records, payroll information, disciplinary matters, and other sensitive HR data.
- Lead and guide the HR team, assign responsibilities, monitor performance, and ensure timely completion of HR activities.
- Report regularly to senior management on manpower status, recruitment progress, employee relations issues, statutory compliance, and key HR risks.
Preferred Qualification & Skills
- MBA / Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management or a related discipline.
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience, with strong exposure to the construction, infrastructure, EPC, or contracting sector preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Indian labour laws and construction-industry statutory compliance.
- Experience in multi-site HR operations and handling project-based manpower.
- Strong recruitment capability for technical, managerial, commercial, and site-based positions.
- Sound knowledge of payroll, attendance management, HRMS, performance management, and HR analytics.
- Strong communication, negotiation, conflict-resolution, and leadership skills.
- Ability to travel to project sites and manage HR matters across multiple locations.
