There is an immediate opening for a Construction Head for a township development Phase 1 (60 buildings) who oversees all construction activities, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. 25 years of experience and B.Tech only.


The Construction Head will lead and manage all construction operations for the township project, from planning to completion. This role requires strategic oversight, effective team leadership, and collaboration with various stakeholders to deliver a high-quality living environment.


Job Accountabilities Duties & Responsibilities:


1. Project Planning and Management:


- Develop comprehensive construction plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.


- Oversee the execution of construction activities, ensuring adherence to established plans and standards.


2. Team Leadership:


- Lead, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary construction team, including project managers, engineers, and site supervisors.


- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the team.


3. Quality Assurance:


- Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure all construction work meets regulatory standards and project specifications.


- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to assess workmanship and compliance.


4. Budget and Cost Control:


- Manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, and implement cost-control measures to ensure financial objectives are met.


5. Stakeholder Collaboration:


- Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and support functions for seamless execution of the projects.


- Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing any concerns.


6. Risk Management:


- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines and quality.


- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.


- Reading survey charts and giving necessary inputs.


- Interpretation of all types of drawings pertaining to various disciplines of engineering.


- Planning the construction activities and defining the role and responsibility of each team member and department.


- Ensuring that the contractors and vendors are identified and finalized timely.


- Ensuring that the Work Order and Purchase Orders are placed in time.


- Guiding the Contracts department for finalizing rates.


- Guiding the Materials department for smooth delivery of materials to various sites.


- Coordination with other departments like Engineering, Design, Procurement, Commercial, etc.


- Ensuring that all the statutory requirements of the projects are complied with.


- Planning the Manpower Requirement and optimum utilization of Manpower.


- Identify critical paths and activities.


- Documentation and Drawings control.


- Budgeting and obtaining Budget approval.


- Safety management.


- Quality Management.


- Evaluate requirement of machines required for various applications.


- Tracking of procurement cost vis-a-vis Budget.


Skills Required:


- Construction technology and Management, Codes and Standards.


- Knowledge in methodology and practices in Contract Management, resource planning.


- Planning techniques and infrastructure planning.


- Knowledge in QA/QC procedures and NDT, HSE procedures.


- Material control and reconciliation, work order, purchase order, billing, statutory requirements.


- Quality audits and stage-wise inspection procedures.


- Experience in coordinating civil, mechanical, structural, electrical and instrumentation works.


- Knowledge of various survey practices.


- RCC construction of Industrial structures and Architectural buildings.


- Knowledge in structural erection works.


- Project schedule and network based techniques.


- Safety Policies.


- Construction field International Quality standards.


- Material control and reconciliation procedure.


- Work order, purchase order procedures, billing methods and labour laws.


Key Attributes:


- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field with experience of preferred 25+ years.


- Should have handled the construction activities in large projects in Real estate, Township construction, large size residential sites, etc.


- Should have worked as Site Construction Head for Medium Size for the last 5 years and handled projects to the tune of minimum Rs. 500 crores.


- Township construction experience will be an added advantage.


- Excellent communicator in English and Hindi language.


Physical Requirements:


- Ability to navigate and inspect all areas of the construction site in all types of weather; this may include climbing ladders, scaffolding, and stairs.


- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.


Work Environment:


- This role requires significant time on construction sites, with exposure to various weather conditions and the inherent risks associated with construction environments.
