The Projects Manager is responsible for the end-to-end development, planning, execution, and
delivery of oil and gas services projects at customer sites. This role holds full ownership of the
project lifecycle from marketing, initial scoping and mobilization through execution, close-out,
and customer handover ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to
the required quality and technical standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development
Get acquainted with the applications and projects of interest
Identify potential customers for the relevant projects
Establish a network of relationships to, prepare necessary presentations, and
coordinate with other colleagues to ensure alignment
2. Project Planning
detailed project execution plans, schedules, and resource plans for services
projects at customer/client sites.
Review contract scope, technical specifications, and customer requirements to
define project deliverables.
Identify equipment, personnel, materials, and logistics requirements ahead of
mobilization.
Prepare risk assessments, HSE plans, and job safety analyses (JSAs) in
coordination with QHSE teams.
Develop project budgets and cost estimates; align with commercial/contracts
teams on scope and pricing.
3. Project Execution & Site Management
Take full ownership of project execution at client sites, acting as the primary
point of accountability.
Mobilize crews, equipment, and subcontractors in line with the project schedule.
Supervise and coordinate field teams, service engineers, technicians, and third-
party contractors on-site.
Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with HSE regulations, client site
requirements, and company QHSE policies.
Monitor daily progress against plan; proactively resolve technical, logistical, or
personnel issues that arise on-site.
Act as the primary interface between the company and the client's site
representatives during execution.
4. Process Ownership & Governance
Own the project management process end-to-end, ensuring adherence to
internal SOPs, quality management systems, and client contractual
requirements.
Maintain full documentation trail: work orders, daily progress reports,
timesheets, material consumption, non-conformance reports, and close-out
reports.
Ensure proper handover procedures, punch-list closure, and customer sign-off
at project completion.
Drive continuous improvement of project delivery processes based on lessons
learned.
5. Cost, Schedule & Performance Control
Monitor project costs against budget; report variances and implement
corrective actions.
Track project KPIs: schedule adherence, cost performance, HSE incidents,
quality metrics, and customer satisfaction.
Prepare and present regular project status reports to management and clients.
Manage change orders, scope variations, and their commercial/schedule
impact.
6. HSE & Compliance
Ensure all site personnel comply with company and client HSE standards and
permit-to-work systems.
Conduct or oversee site HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and safety audits.
Investigate and report incidents, near-misses, and non-conformances;
implement corrective/preventive actions.
Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements at all project sites.
Key Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Petroleum, Chemical, or related
field); PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred.
8 to 12+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a minimum of 5
years in a project management role covering field services execution.
Proven track record managing service delivery projects at client/well/plant sites
(e.g., completions, workover, wireline, coiled tubing, chemical services,
maintenance, or similar service lines).
Strong knowledge of HSE management systems, permit-to-work processes,
and industry regulatory frameworks.
Solid understanding of project cost control, scheduling tools (Primavera P6/MS
Project), and contract management.
Experience managing multidisciplinary field teams and third-party contractors.
