PURPOSE:
· The Construction Engineer – Civil (Operations) is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising civil construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards and regulatory requirements. The role serves as a key link between design, project management, and site execution teams to ensure operational efficiency and successful project delivery.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Execute and supervise civil construction works in line with approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
· Coordinate daily site activities with project management, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.
· Monitor site progress, productivity, and resource utilization; take corrective actions where needed.
· Ensure works are carried out as per method statements, shop drawings, and approved ITPs.
· Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards and project requirements.
· Enforce HSE policies on-site; ensure safe working practices and compliance with safety regulations.
· Identify risks, delays, and technical issues; escalate and resolve them in a timely manner.
· Verify completed work quantities and support progress measurements and billing.
· Manage and coordinate subcontractors’ performance and ensure adherence to scope and timelines.
· Optimize use of manpower, materials, and equipment to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
· Coordinate material delivery, approvals, inspections, and storage at site.
· Prepare and submit daily/weekly progress reports and maintain proper site documentation.
· Review and report actual vs planned progress and highlight deviations.
· Provide technical support and guidance to site teams and resolve design-related issues.
· Ensure implementation of approved shop drawings, RFIs, and technical submittals.
· Assist in planning, scheduling, and sequencing of construction activities.
· Participate in project meetings and provide operational updates.
· Ensure timely closure of snag lists and punch items.
· Support testing, commissioning, and project handover activities.
· Maintain compliance with local regulations, authority requirements, and company standards.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor's Degree of Civil Engineering or Equivalent.
· Minimum (3-8) years of experience.
· Good knowledge in MS office (Word, Excel, PP, Outlook, ...etc.).
· Good knowledge of ERP systems concepts with proven practice.
· Good command in spoken and written English.
· Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to effectively utilize them for accurate design interpretation and reporting.
· Technical background in construction management tools (e.g., Primavera P6 / MS Project) and civil engineering standards, with the ability to apply technical requirements efficiently in a dynamic site environment.
